Underwater Vechile

For this task we  made AI generated images.

first we had to make our prompts, my promts was. My underwater vechile had a big engine, had a yellow interior, and also had a big . To make your car look like what you wanted it to look you have to be very specific about what your trying to make. After I made my prompts and images I have to make a DLO about the car and how I made it.

I enjoyed this task because it was fun to make our own car.

Tokelauan Language Week

In this activity we found out some facts about Tokelau for Tokelauan Language Week. The most interesting fact I found out is that Tokelau is the smaller than the NYC Central Park. Tokelau is 200km and NYC Central Park is 700km. What I also found interesting is that Tokelau is over 1000+.

I enjoyed this activity as I had a connection to Tokelau and learnt many things about Tokelau. I need to improve on explainging it more simpler for the little kids, so they could learn about Tokelau and its culture.

Art Class – Tech

For tech this week, we learnt what complimentary and analogous colours. We also learnt how to use watercolour. Complimentary colours are colours that make each other stand out, for example orange and blue, along with yellow and purple. Analogous colours are colours that go well with each other like yellow – green, yellow, and orange – yellow.

To practice our complimentary and analogous colour skills, we used watercolour to paint in a flower and a fish. We had to choose one for complimentary colours and another one for analogous colours.

I enjoyed this because I got to use my complimentary and analogous colour skills by using watercolour.

Why It’s Important to go Sleep?

LI: to explain why sleep is so important
LI: to read the images and make inferences

For this task we learnt about why it’s important to have enough sleep. Enough sleep for your age is important because if you don’t, you will be tired and if you go school early, but went sleep at 12am at midnight, you might sleep in class and get in trouble. Many kids in the world go sleep at 12am or longer, but not knowing they have school early in the morning. Kids need to stop sleeping so late because it could effect them from going to school and not have the right education for their brain. For this task we learnt about the rate of people going sleep at the wrong time and also learnt about how much time they need for their sleep.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how much I need for my sleep and this would help me have the right amount of sleep for school. I need to improve on working on the rate of people sleeping.

Kingi Tūheitia – Unity

For this task we learnt about a well known person in the Maori culture, which is ‘Kingi Tūheitia’, Kingi Tūheitia was known as the Maori king, but also known as a person who brings unity towards his Maori people and people around the whole of New Zealand. Kingi Tuheitia is the definition of Unity as he showed the most respect to everyone and he gave peace to the land by telling us that every can get and have a second chance. Kingi Tuheitia was known for being the king of the Maori, but the people know that he is known for bring people together as one. Kingi Tuheitia was a very humble person and very mindful. When Kingi Tūheitia passed away, the Maori people crowned the new queen Kuini Nga Wai Hono i te Po. I think she will carry her fathers legacy by welcoming everyone, not matter their race, and religion, and by being humble. She also has a lot to bring to the table as she’s young, and her education is exceptional. She has many degrees which will be a big help for her collaborating with others.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt many things about Kingi Tuheitia and his daughter Nga Wai Hono i te Po. In my opioion, I think Nga Wai Hono i te Po will carry on her father’s legacy.

Netball Interschool

For this sport interschool, our school participate in the netball interschool and played a good game. Our record went well and got a record of 2 wins and 3 loses. Our netball went well and played against Glen Brae, Tamaki Primary, Glen Taylor, Panama Road, Stone Fields. Our easiest competition was Panama Road and our hardest competition was Glen Taylor losing to them. Our team enjoyed playing against other schools and playing our last game with each other as a team and as a school. Our interschool and after school competition went well playing as a team and mostly having fun, playing sport that we enjoy.

I enjoyed playing as a team and one thing we need to improve as a team is talking and making sure we don’t step with the ball.

Duffy’s Hats

For this create task we research about birthday hats and choose which design is best. For my design I chose a crown which was the most popular because it was the easiest to make. There were a variety of colours like: green, red, blue, yellow, purple, etc. We also research some designs that goes well with Duffy’s Birthday topic. Some of the designs I added were: Duffy’s D on his hat, books, etc. These designs were most popular to be added to the hat because it went well with Duffy’s 30th Birthday theme. We all enjoyed making Duffy hats for Duffy’s Birthday because we all enjoyed making the hats, researching some designs about what to add for the Duffy hats.

I enjoyed this task myself because I enjoyed creating the designs so the hat can fit in the theme of Duffy’s 30th Birthday. I need to improve on measuring my head to make the right measurement for my head for the crown to fit on my head.

Duffy’s Boxes

For this create task we learnt about different designs like: cultural designs for the box and zentangles for the making of the box. We also learnt how to make a box for the making of Duffy’s box, which was created for putting our Duffy books inside the box, so it can be in a place where it will be easy to find and easy to grab. For the creation bit, we used pencils and markers to draw our cultural and zentangles designs on our box. We also created Duffy’s face and placed it on the box, so we know what’s inside the box, which would be the Duffy books. The purpose of the book was created to place the books inside the box because we investigated that many people inside our class would put the books inside their drawer or under the bed, so it won’t get in the way of playing their game or doing whatever they are doing. Our class just wants to give thanks to Duffy books at home for providing us with the books that they have given us for most of the years.

I enjoyed this art activity because I enjoyed learning about different cultural designs and zentangles. I also enjoyed this because it can help me as a Duffy kid to place my books in the right place instead of placing it in my drawer or under my bed. My favourite part of making these boxes is the finished product because I enjoyed showing off my design to the visitors that came and celebrated Duffy’s 30th year for Duffy books at home.

Duffy’s 30th Birthday

For today we celebrated Duffy books at home for 30 years. Alan Duff was the person who founded Duffy books at home and did it for 30 years. Alan Duff is 73 years old and was named the best author in New Zealand for writing a famous book and movie, which was ‘Once were Warriors’. Alan Duff was known for being an author and writing many books like: Sonny Bill Williams, Once Were Warriors, Warriors, etc, etc. We ate cake and enjoyed his birthday. We created boxes, hats for Duffy’s Birthday. We sang the Duffy song for the vistiors that came to the assembly and talked about the 30 years of Duffy books at home.

I enjoyed Duffy’s Birthday because we ate cake and showed off our hats and our boxes to the vistiors. We need to improve on singing louder.

Interschool Rippa Rugby

Interschool Rippa Rugby was very fun and our team enjoyed playing for our school. Our team went 3 – 1 – 0. Our record was 3 wins, 1 tie, and 0 loses. We did very well playing Rippa Rugby as a team and next time we should improve on spreading out and talking, but we did amazing in the Rippa interschool. We versed schools from the Manaiakalani Cluster.

Our school enjoyed playing Rippa for our school and had a solid record for both of our year 7 and 8 mixed teams, both of our year 5 and 6 team for Rippa. Next time we should improve on talking and spreading out, so we can be able to win all our games.
