LI: to visualise your goals
For this task we wrote about the leaders we admire. The leaders I admire is Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parkes. These people are famous for their civil war. Martin Luther King Jr is a person whos race was black, but other people didn’t like him because he had a different race as them, so he made a protest to let people with a different skin colour to have freedom. Rosa Parks sat on a white people only bus and sat there.
LI: to read the text, gather, sort, graph, and analyse the data.
LI: to understand the meaning of Mode, Median, Mean
For our task we made a statistical investigation about our blog posts over the years. (Year 7 was 2021 – 2023 and Year 8 was 2020 – 2023.) We went on our old blogs and counted each blog post we did in each month. For example: in March 2021 I blog 11 posts. Other way of learning statistical investigation is learning the meaning of: Mean, Median, and Mode:
The Meaning of Mean is: the total of the group of numbers.
The Meaning of Mode is: seeing the most appeared number in the group of numbers. For example: if there is 11, 12, 13, 15, 12, 11, the most appearing number is 12 because it apppear 3 times in the group.
The Meaning of Median is: finding the middle number in the group, but first putting it from smallest to largest and then finding the middle number.
I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to make a bar graph for my investigation. My favourite part in the statistical investigation is looking at my old blogs and comparing it to my recent blogs.
LI: to visualise your goals
For this task we made a vision board about our goals and the person we wanted to be when we are grown up. The person I chose was David Tua. David Tua is a Samoan boxer from Apia. (Capatial Samoa). David Tua is a very famous boxer in New Zealand for being famous in the Olympics. The collage I want to get into is Dilworth.
I enjoyed this task because I got to explain about the person I want to be.
LI: to understand Cybersmart Vocab
For this activity I worked on a word search about cybersmart vocab. The hardest word in the word search is Kawa of Care because Kawa of Care was hard to see due to the other words blocking the other letters. In the next activity we group the Cybersmart vocab to the meaning of the vocab. For example: Kawa of Care – An agreement between schools, families, and students. That helps everyone understand how to use and look after their devices propley.
I enjoyed this task because this task had one of my favourite activities, word search in this task.
LI: to be Cybersmart around chromebooks.
The whole reason that the Kawa of Care exists, and your school and your whānau work together so that you can use a chromebook is for your learning. For the kawa of care quest, I answered questions about the kawa of care and I got them all right. (Thank you Mr Goodwin for sharing this quest)
I enjoyed this task because I thought that this quiz is a fun activity to learn about kawa of care.
LI: to write and say our pepeha
To help us get to know each other, we have written our pepehas. This allows us to make connection and form friendships.
I found this activity fun because we got to get into groups and say it out to each other and form friendships.
This image is a panda being disguised as a person. I made a drawing that has a panda that is disguised as a human because I thought it would look a lot better as a person and this idea was a funny draft from the top of my head.
This SLJ activity is about using an animal and put on anthropomorphism and for my anthropomorphism it is a disguise.
This task was fun because I thought it would be a good idea to put on a panda. Next time I would change the disguise so it can fit onto the panda.
For this task we had to find Mrs Taylor. (The red circle is Mrs Taylor). This task was very hard and stressful because this task was hard to see people cause of them being all crowrded with people. This task was created by myslef and a help from Densyn because the Mrs Taylor was small sometimes.
I enjoyed this task because this task was fun and funny because of all the poses.
For this summer learning journey I did the step it up challenge for summer style. This drawing is a little island with palm tree, the setting is a sunset, with birds flying around. This reminds me of looking at the sunset and looking at the beautiful view.
This task was a very fun task because I got to draw something that I liked. This task is my favourite SLJ task because I love drawing at my house.
This summer learning jounery task was about making a Te Reo Maori Memes. For this task we had to make a meme in Te Reo Maori. My meme in english is ‘POV: me fake laughing to a non funny joke’. In Maori, the meme is ‘POV: ka kata rūpahu ahau ki te katakata kore’. This task was hard because I didn’t know any Maori, so I used translation.
I enjoyed this task because this task required a english and Maori version.
