Interschool Rippa Rugby

Interschool Rippa Rugby was very fun and our team enjoyed playing for our school. Our team went 3 – 1 – 0. Our record was 3 wins, 1 tie, and 0 loses. We did very well playing Rippa Rugby as a team and next time we should improve on spreading out and talking, but we did amazing in the Rippa interschool. We versed schools from the Manaiakalani Cluster.

Our school enjoyed playing Rippa for our school and had a solid record for both of our year 7 and 8 mixed teams, both of our year 5 and 6 team for Rippa. Next time we should improve on talking and spreading out, so we can be able to win all our games.

Sport – 3v3 Basketball Inter School

For this interschool we played in the 3v3 basketball for Panmure Bridge. Our record was 2 – 1 – 2. We won 2, tied 1, and lost 2. This interschool was very fun because we enjoyed our time playing baskeball, which is a sport that we enjoyed. This interschool included many other schools like: Point England, Tamaki Primary, and etc. We played against: Point England, Tamaki Primary, Sylvia Park School, Ruapotaka School (twice).

Our team enjoyed playing for our school for 3v3 basketball. If we were able to, we would play  again other time.

HPE – Race

I participated in a race. The fastest time was 21 seconds.

First we ran around, jumped over hurdles, did 5 star jumps, spirited across the cones, and skipped rope to the start of the line. This was a hard task because I didn’t know how to skip rope.

Next we played a game called infinity tag. In infinity tag everyone is the tagger. If they tag each other at the same time, they have to play rock, paper, scissors. If you tag a person, the person has to sit down, but if the person that tagged you gets out, you could stand up and keep on playing.

Lastly, we played Golden child. In Golden Child, there are two teams. They have to run and do an exercise 5 times, then they have to verse the person in rock, paper, scissors, if the person wins they have to run and try to go to the other team to win the game.

I enjoyed participating in the games because I learnt how to play other games. I need to improve on playing golden child because my team lost. I did well on playing infinity tag.

HPE – Shotput

I learnt a range of shot put skills.

First we went over the rules of shot put. One of them is to push the ball, not throw the ball. For example: pushing the ball is using three fingers to hold the ball from the middle of your ear to neck, then use the other hand to aim where you’re pushing the ball, and twist your body to put more force into the shot.

Next we got into buddys and started pushing the ball. We also tried to match the skills while pushing the tennis ball. For example: we had to spread our legs, one arm aiming, the ball in the middle of the ear and neck, twist the body to put more might, then push the shot put or ball.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new skills. I need to improve on pushing the ball. I did well on twisting the ball.

HPE – Long Jump

I learnt long jump and revised running.

First I revised running. We revised the skills for running. We had to run to our coach. Then we had to run 100 meters. There was a ball at the back of our foot, but if we touch it we will be out.

Next we learnt the long jump skills. We had to jump off one foot, land in a motorbike stance with two feet, swing arms back, then up and over.

I enjoyed long jump because I learnt new skills. I need to improve on running faster. I did well on jumping as far as I can.

Kelly Sports – Spriting

For Kelly Sports we learnt how to sprite.

First we played rats and rabbits. We have to use our legs to run from the rat or rabbit.

Next we played a game called spirting. We had to sprite across the feild to win.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to run. I need to improve on running from the rats. I did well on running across the feild.

HPE – Badminton

We learnt a range of badminton skills.

First we learnt how to hold a racquet. We had to hold the racquet with our dominant hand. Our thumb has to be on top of your fingers. We also learnt how to serve the ball. We had to put the racquet under and the shuttlecock above the racquet. Then drop the shuttlecock and hit he shuttlecock.

Next we learnt how to control the shuttlecock. If I want to hit the shuttlecock up. I need to hold my racquet straight and put the shuttlecock above the racquet and hit it up. If I want to hit the shuttlecock towards someone, I have to put my racquet halfway to my knees and hit the shuttlecock towards them. We played a game called the name game.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to play badminton. I need to improve on hitting the shuttlecock. I did well on controlling the shuttlecock.

Kelly Sports – Dodgeball

We learnt how to play dodgeball.

First coach told us the rules of a game called jedi dodgeball. Jedi dodgeball had 2 teams, orange, and purple. The jedi got to dodge the ball with his noodle and get to revive his teammates. The people that are not the jedi get to dodge the ball by using their ball. For example: if you have a ball and someone throws it to you, you can use your ball to hit it. If we get out we have to go on 2 knees and wait until the jedi revives us.

Next we played elimination dodgeball. Elimination dodgeball is the same as jedi dodgeball, but there was no jedi, if we get out, we are out until the next game, and if we catch the ball, the person who threw it gets out.

Lastly we played traditional dodgeball, but this time if we get out, we line up in first, second, and third. For example: if I was the first one out and my teammates caught the ball, I got to go back in.

I enjoyed playing dodgeball because I liked it when you get out first and your teammates catches the ball you get back in. I did well on catching the ball. I need to improve on throwing the ball.

HPE – Football

We revised how to throw a football.

First we revised how to throw a ball.  Your ring finger needs to be on the third lace. Your shoulder needs to be in a 90 degree angle. Your feet need to be side ways.

Next we played piggy in the middle 3’s. We got into groups of 3 and played piggy in the middle.

Lastly we played piggy in the middle, but we got into a big circle and there were 3 – 4 piggy. The piggy had to steal the ball and the people has to pass it to the another person.

I enjoyed this game because I was piggy. I did well on being piggy. I need improve on passing the ball.

AFL

I revised skills from American Football League. They are throwing and catching.

First we revised how to throw a ball.  Your ring finger needs to be on the third lace. Your shoulder needs to be in a 90 degree angle. Your feet need to be side ways.

Next we revised how to catch a ball. Your hand needs to be in a trangle shape and your fingers need to be spread out. We played Down, Down, Down to practiced throwing and catching. In down, down, down you need to throw the ball to your partner. If you drop the ball you lose a life which is going on one knee, two knees, one arm, no arms.

Lastly we played a game called cone drop. We had to aim at the cone and throw the ball. We had to throw the ball at each cone. After throw the ball at the triangle pyrimaid.

I enjoyed this task because I revised how to throw and catch. I did well on throwing because I had good aim. I need to improve on catching.
