Ki O Rahi – Stepping

I learnt how to step people for Ki O Rahi.

First Ahli showed a demonstration to step people. First he put out one leg and went the other way.

Next we played a game. It was called stepping relay. We had to step the cones and touch the wall and do the same thing on the way back. The most important thing is the 1st team to sit down won the round.

Last we played octopus but the sqaure was small, the sqaure was small because we can step the people harder so we can step them.

I enjoyed these games because I stepped no one. I did well on playing the relay stepping game. I need to improve on stepping the other people.

Soccer

We revised our soccer skills.

First we played a warm up game called stuck in the mud rock, paper, scissors.

Then we revised how to stop and kick the ball to our teammates. We used the in soul of our foot to kick and step or gently tap it. We had 3 people in our team. We formed a triangle to pass it to each other.

Last we played a dribble drill. There are two rolls in the game. The zombie and the people who dribble the ball to the other side of the field. We dribbled until we lost control of the ball and if we did, we became a zombie.

I enjoyed this game because we revised our skills so we know how to play or practise. I need to improve on dribbling the ball. I did well passing the ball to my teammates.

Soccer

I learnt a range of soccer skills.

First we learnt how to dribble the ball. We got into teams of 8 and played a game about dribbling the ball. We needed to dribble the ball to the other side of the line and pass the ball to the person who was next.

Then we learnt how to pass to our team member. We got buddys and passed the ball to our teammate. We passed by using our soul of our foot. We learnt how to stop the ball by putting our foot on top of the ball or by touching the ball softy with our foot.

Last we played a another game. We got into teams of 7 or 8 and passed it but if the other team touched on steal the ball we restarted back to 1. We needed 8 points to win the game.

I enjoyed learning soccer skills because we get to learn new skills. I need to improve on dribbling the ball. I need well on passing the ball to my team.

T Ball Skills

We revised and learned more T ball skills.

First we played noodle tag for our warm up. In this game people have to tag the runners and when they get tagged they have to stand on one leg and wait for 10 seconds. This game is important because it can teach and practise batting.

Next Coach Cameron taught us how to bat. For batting it has to be the same height as our belly button. He taught us how to stand while hitting the ball. He taught us to put our feet straight in line, spread apart. He taught us arms out straight at the contact point. He also taught to put our fact sideways. We played a tournament. There were 4 teams. There were two teams versus each other. Our first game we lost. Our second game we won.

Lastly we played our last game. For our name we chose Black Koalas. We won 11-3.

I enjoyed this game because we had lots of fun batting and fielding. I need to improve on tagging the people that are running to the bases. I did good at batting and running to other bases.

T Ball Skills

We learnt new T ball skills.

First we played a noodle tag. In this game people have to tag the runners and when they get tagged they have to stand on one leg until someone high-fives them.

Next we practised running between the bases by having a relay race. We ran to each base one person at a time making sure we touched each base.

Lastly we practised hitting. We hit the ball and if someone catches it while it is in the air the person will be out. We practised hitting the ball on the tee but it was hard because I missed it while hitting the ball.

I enjoyed this game because I never knew T ball before. I did good at getting the other team out. I need to improve on hitting the ball because I always miss the ball while hitting.

4 C’s

We learned the 4 C’s.

First we revised our characteristics of being a team member. We also learnt the 4 C’s of Leadership;. Communication, confidence, collaboration, and cooperation.

Then we had to pick a Leader who is confident to lead the group. Our two leaders were Mathues and Densyn because they were confident to lead the group.

Next we made a plan and thought of the 4 C’s in our plan. We played a game that we never played before. It was hard because we couldn’t talk.

Lastly we repeated the game, but one person in the team had to wear a blind fold. The leader of the group had to guide the person with the blindfold to pick up a cone.

We enjoyed this activity because we learned the 4 C’s. We need to improve our communication skills. We did good on sharing our ideas.

From Densyn, Mathues, Gianni, Brooke, and Taya.

Revising and Learning Hockey Skills

We revised and learnt new hockey skills.

First we revised how to grip the hockey stick and how to dribble the ball side to side.

Next we started to learn new hockey skills. They are standard dribble, upright pass and the jab. The standard dribble is drag the ball while walking or running. The upright pass is hitting the ball agline with your left foot. The jab is used to get the ball off someone by pushing the ball with bottom of the stick.

Lastly we raced using both dribbles the standred dribble and the upright pass.

I enjoyed this because I learnt the standard dribble drags the ball. I did well on doing the jab because you just have to push the ball off someone. I need to improve on the upright pass because I forget to agline the ball with my left leg.

Hockey Skills

Today we revised our hockey skills.

First we revised dribbling. We had to put the ball down and keep it still and rotate the hockey stick anti – clockwise. We also revised on moving and dribbling the ball. We learnt a rule in hockey that if the ball hits your foot its a penalty.

Then we played a game called taniwha. We had to move and dribble with the ball. There was someone singing the taniwha song and when they shout out taniwha they have to steal the ball and get you out. To get out by a taniwha they have to try and hit the ball on your foot. They also had to try and hit the ball out of the square.

After we played a game when we had to dribble, dribble, pass. There are colour cones like red, green, blue, and yellow. Someone will shout out a colour and their partner has to dribble, dribble, and pass it to you and the ball has to touch the cone.

Lastly we played a game called 4 corner hockey.

I enjoyed this game because it was fun and little hard to play. I need to improve on push pass because the ball always go behind my foot. I did good at dribbling the ball.

Teamwork

We learnt how to Identify characteristics of a good team member and Identify Actions and factors that can prevent a team from working cooperatively

First we define characteristics. For example, brave is a characteristic that explains that you’re not scared and you don’t fear anyone.

Then we put our negative words on the outside of the body and our positive words on the inside for example. Communicating, It is positive because it helps your team.

Lastly we played a game and it was all about teamwork. We failed because we didn’t communicate when we played the game.

We enjoyed this task because it was all about teamwork. We need to improve on communicating as a group. We did good at writing our negative and positive words. By Matheus, Taya, Brooke, Easton, Densyn, and Gianni.
