Exploring PapyrusAI

For this task we learnt about AI and using a website called ‘PapyrusAI’ which creates a story, image, or  pattern, but for this to happen you have to use LLM which is a large language model. PapyrusAi gives feedback / suggestions which helped me boost my story onto another level. One key idea to using this is to always check because AI is guessing which might not be %100 correct. PapyrusAI makes conversations and also gives feedback / suggestions to help make the text or image more detailed. This task really helped me boost up my vocabulary and make my story even better.

I enjoyed getting feedback from PapyrusAI because it really helped make my story more detailed and better. One thing that was challenging for me is that the suggestions kept on going and going until I realised I didn’t have to follow all the prompts.

Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there were two little girls living very different lives near the same mysterious forest. Little Red Riding Hood lived on the dark and gloomy side, surrounded by tall trees that blocked out the sunlight, making the forest cold and damp. On the other side, Princess Snow White resided in a large, bright, and shiny white-coloured castle, where the weather was warm and pleasant, amid beautiful trees and animals like horses. Snow had a strange, eerie feeling that something bad was going to happen. She lived with her Mother and Grandmother, but her Evil Queen Mother sought revenge. The Queen blamed Snow for the King’s absence and planned to have Snow kidnapped by forcing her to speak to strangers, ultimately to banish her in a cage for eternity.

Inside the brightly lit room of the castle, adorned with shiny diamonds, the magic mirror of Snow White’s Mother always told the truth. One day, she asked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the greatest of them all?” To her fury, the mirror replied, “You, my queen, but there’s a small girl who is greater overall.” Determined to find and eliminate this girl, she pressed on, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, where’s the little girl in fall?” The mirror cryptically answered, “The little girl in the fall is placed in a village with five poles.”

Driven by envy, the Evil Queen sent Snow White to ask strangers for directions to the nearest shop, hoping to entangle her in danger. Meanwhile, a large silhouette of the Big Bad Wolf loomed in the distance. On the other side of town, Little Red Riding Hood was headed to the same shop to buy special apples for her sick Grandmother. As Snow White arrived, she encountered a cashier with suspiciously wolf-like features. The Wolf, disguised, tried luring Snow White to a back room, claiming he had what she needed. At that moment, Little Red Riding Hood spotted Snow and attempted to intervene. Despite her brave effort, both girls were captured, leaving them scared, frightened, and anxious about what might happen next.

As the Big Bad Wolf prepared to carry out his plan, Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White bravely devised a way to escape. They whispered a quick plan, using their combined wits. Little Red Riding Hood remembered the special apples she had for her Grandmother, which could momentarily make anyone sleepy. She offered one to the Wolf, pretending it was a token of friendship.

The Wolf, intrigued and fooled by her gesture, took the apple and devoured it. Soon, he found himself growing drowsy. Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood seized the opportunity; they quickly slipped away from the back room, running through the shop and into the forest.

Their escape alerted friendly woodland creatures, who had always looked after Little Red Riding Hood. The animals aided their flight, guiding them safely back through the forest to Snow’s castle.

Once they reached the bright castle, Snow White’s Grandmother, known for her wisdom and kindness, thanked Little Red Riding Hood for her bravery and shared the truth about Snow’s mother, the Evil Queen. United by friendship and courage, the two girls felt stronger knowing they had defeated the odds.

Realising the error of her ways, the Evil Queen saw the bravery Snow White had shown and had a change of heart. Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood’s story became a legend, known for their cleverness and the powerful bond of friendship, continuing to inspire many.

Persuasive Language Features

LI: to explore the language features of a persuasive text.

This term we have been learning about persuasive writing to help us get ready for the school speech competition later in this term. Persuasive writing is used when you want to make others think like you. Yesterday we were looking closely at the language features used in a persuasive text. I have chosen to share the persuasive language feature of ‘rhetorical question.’ I think authors use this language feature to make the reader think about your opinion and convince them to be on your side.

I enjoyed this task because this task really helped me with writing speeches and persuasiving the person. I need to improve on making it more persuasive because for a speech, it has to persuasive the person to listen to what your saying.

2 Words, 2 Minutes

  – Images of Ancient Olympics 2 word 2 minutes

Today we used the ‘2 words 2 minute’ challenge to write a description about the ancient olympics. After talking in pairs about the things we knew about the ancient  olympics we created a list of words (vocabulary) that would help us write our description. We chose the words ‘Greece’ and ‘athletes’ to help us think about what we were going to write.

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 2 minutes to put those ideas into sentences. After the time was up we had 2 minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense or if we had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on writing our descriptions.

This activity was fun  because I learnt many things and improved on getting more words on the second time we did the challenge. For example: the first time I did this challenge, I got 38 words. The second time, I did this challenge, I got 48 words, which was a 10 word improvement. The thrid time I did this challenge, I scored 106 words, which was a big improvement from the first and second time we did this challenge.

Rewrite But Don’t Use…

LI: to use a wider variety of vocabulary

For this task we were challenged to create a rewritten piece of text that has the same meaning as the original nursery rhymes, but not using some specific letters that were given to us. Eg: A,L,K were the letters we were not to use for our text. Another eg: Humpty Dumpty rested up high. (Our version of the nursery rhyme without using the letters A,L,K). This task helped us learn about different words and helped us build our vocabulary for this task.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt about new words without using letters that I’m used to use. Eg: a, e, i, o, u. I need to improve on making it make sense because in some of my writing it didn’t make sense, so I want to improve on making my sentences make sense.

Swamp Tigers

LI: to create a multi-moda | DLO that tells others about swamp tigers.

Our challenge we made a multi-moda DLO about swamp tigers, but first we took notes about the swamp tigers diet, behaviour, appearance, and habitat. This is because we are learning how to write an information report about the swamp tiger. We wrote down facts, we wrote what they ate, what they do for a living, etc. We also made an audio for the DLO, so the readers would be able to listen, read, and see what the swamp tigers are about. We wrote down things like: the swamp tigers scientific name, which is – Panthera Tigris Tigris. We also wrote down where the tiger lives, like: a mangrove swamp, forest, and etc. For its behaviour, it would act protectively, if its predator encountered it. It also is territorial, which is protecting its land from other animals or people going on it. Some interesting fact that I’ve learnt about the swamp tiger is that it is the deadliest animal in the world, it is a carnivore which is only meat eaters and also eats human, and I also learnt is that swamp tigers kill 100 fishermen per year.

I enjoyed this task because we were able to make recordings and take notes about an animal that we’ve never heard of. Something that I would like to improve on is to make sure our recording was more clear, so if anyone listens to the audio, they would be able to listen to the audio nice and clear.

Sentence Structure

LI: to learn the three different sentences

For this challenge we understood the meaning of the three sentences, simple, compound, and complex. This challenge was to choose one of the 4 opinions to see if the sentence was a, simple, compound, complex, or a complex / compound. If you got the answer right you were able to win fake money. For example: the answer is able to win $200 and then move on to $300, then $400 and so on. My highest on this challenge was $500,000 and I wasn’t able to hit the jackpot $1,000,000.

I enjoyed this game because this helped me improve in my writing and helping me to learn more about different sentences.

Simple, Compound, and Complex Sentences

LI: to understand what the 3 sentences.

For this task we understood what the 3 sentences is for writing. The 3 sentences are: simple sentence, compound sentence, and complex sentence. A simple sentence is one independent clause or an idea that contains a noun or a verb. A compound sentence is 2 simple sentences, combined with a conjunction word or a FANBOYS. A complex sentence is an independent clause and another clause, but also using aaawwubbis. (ALL WAYS START A SENTENCE WITH A CAPTAIL SENTENCE AND END THE SENTENCE WITH A FULL STOP)

I enjoyed this task because it helped me by writing sentences. I need to improve on writing complex sentences because I need to write more detail and stronger vobac.

Abstract Poem – Writing

LI: to use a abstract word to write a poem

For this task we researched a abstract word and use that word to write a sentence using the 5 senses. Olfactory, gustatory, visual, tactile, and audiorty. These 5 senses is other words for, smell, taste, see, feel, and sound. This task helped me with using powerful words and rhyming.

I enjoyed this task because this helped me with using the 5 senses and using powerful word.

Moment in Time Poems – Writing

LI: to write a poem, and use powerful words

For this task we wrote a poem about the time of the place or thing. Our 2 poems we wrote about is about a polar bear and Maungarei (Mountain). My favourite poem my group wrote was the polar bear poem because it was expressed with power words and shows, but doesn’t tell about the poem.

I enjoyed this task because it helped my vocabulary and testing new words. I would like to improve more into my vocabulary and to learn new ways on writing a poem.

Sound Focus – Writing

LI: to write a sentence using long /e/ and long /a/

For this task, we drew coloums and wrote words that belonged in the long /a/ and the long /e/. After making the coloums, we wrote a silly sentence about the long /a/ and long /e/. One of our sentences from the long /e/ is: ‘The Foreign person forgot the receipt to the t-shirt from the leisure brand, but received uber eats from the ceiling and realised he was deceived.’ One thing I liked about this task is writing the sentence in a silly way. My favourite part of the sentence is: ‘but received uber eats from the ceiling and realised he was deceived.’

I enjoyed this task because this task was able to make us laugh when making the sentences.
