Te Reo Maori

I learnt how to count in Te Reo Maori up to 30.

First Whaea Odie had cards. What ever number she says in te reo, we had to give the card and say anei. For example: she says ho mai wha, we have to gave her four and say anei.

Next we she says two cards some were: 22 which is rua tekau ma rua and 36 which is toru tekau ma ono. Rua tekau is two tens or twenty and ma rua is two ones.

I enjoyed this task because I never knew how to count up to 30. I need improve on says anei to Whaea Odie. I did well on giving the cards to Whaea Odie

ANZAC Quatrefoil

I created a Anzac Quatrefoil.

First I had to draw a quatrefoil about Anzac. Anzac stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps.

Next I made stick mans that are standing. Some ideas are: soldiers saluting, a cross, a soldier shooting, and a poppy. We had to plan our colours, space, and our shpaes or symbols.

Lastly I created a quatrefoil that relates to anzac I used 2 men standing to respect and a grave. I used the salute to show the captain of the army.

I enjoyed this task because I didn’t know that Anzac stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. I need to improve on doing my print design rules because I didn’t put much space between them. I did well on thinking of some ideas because I know some things because about Anzac.

Quatrefoil

This week I made a quatrefoil.

First I learnt about Max Gimblett and his famous quatrefoil.

Then I made lines to make a quatrefoil. Than I aline them up to put the lines in the middle. I made 4 circles and put the circle in the middle of the line. Then I did it with the same with the other three circles.

Last I deleted the lines and made the circle big. Then I transparent the out lines and made the circles bigger. I made a sad quatrefoil to show my emosins.

I enjoyed this task because I never knew about Max Gimblett. I need to improve on making my quatrefoil because when I first made my quatrefoil the circles didn’t go straight. I did good at designing my quatrefoil.

Prior Knowledge

Today we learnt about prior knowledge and have been making a connections.

First we look at the front and the back of the text and see if we know things about south pacific.

After we made comments about south pacific beats and making connections.

Last we search some definition about drums and beats. I searched remix for my definition.

I enjoyed this task because it helps us know and learn about prior knowledge. I did good at searching some words about drums and beats. I need to improve on knowing things about prior knowledge.

Hockey Skills

We learnt a range of hockey skills.

First we learnt how to hold a hockey stick. We put our left arm on the top of the hockey stick. On our right arm we put our right arm on the shaft.

Then we learnt how to dribble the ball. We had to put the ball down and keep it still and rotate the hockey stick anti – clockwise.

Afterwards we learnt two skills to pass. One was a sweet pass. The other is the push pass. The sweet pass is when your legs are spread out and the ball is behind our foot. The push pass is when the ball is in between our legs and the hockey stick is behind the ball and the ball doesn’t move.

Lastly we learnt how to stop the ball when someone passes. When the ball comes towards someone they can stop it with the hockey stick down on the ground and the hockey stick will stop the ball coming toward you.

I enjoyed this task because it helps to pass the ball, stop the ball, dribble the ball, and hold the hockey stick. I did well on stopping the ball. I need to improve with my push pass because the ball moves when it touches the ball.

Basic Facts

I learnt my basic facts boxes up to 20.

First I made a speed demon challenge.

Then I made a stopwatch. My time was 3 minutes 20 secounds.

Lastly I got 100/100 and competeled.

I enjoyed this task because it helps my learning. I did good at getting the answers right. I need to improve in my typing because I answered some questions slow.

Summarising the Main Ideas

Today I learnt about summarising the main ideas about a book called reading a boat.

First I read the first page and wrote the main keywords in a comment. I wrote the what, where, when, why, and how about the first page. After I wrote the what, where, when, why, and how. I wrote a 15 word summary to summarise the first page.

Then I read the second and third page and got some keywords from the page. The second and third page was about signs that were not important and ones that are important.

Last I read the fourth and fifth page and spent time looking for keywords about the page. The fourth and fifth text was about walking down the shore and signs.

I enjoyed summarising the keywords. I did well on finding some keywords about the all the pages. I need to improve my ability to find keywords because I couldn’t find lots of important keywords.

Manners

Today we were learning about manners.

First we talked and explain about manners.

After we used a site called word out. We made our own and put manners in the text box.

Lastly we took 4 photos about using manners.

I enjoyed this task because it uses words that are kind, friendly, and nice words. I’m good at doing eye contact. I need to improve on saying thank you.

Tic Tac Toe

Last week we were playing a game called tic tac toe on the basketball court.

First we got into teams of 5. My team was yellow. There were 4 teams: yellow, blue, red, and green. For the first round we played the first version. My team won the first round. The first round was easy because we thought of a strategy letting the smartest person last so they know where to move the bibs.

Next we played again but we thought about a strategy. Our strategy was to let the younger people first and the oldest people at the back. For the second round we played the first version again. My team won the second round. The second round was a little easy because our strategy was letting the little person first and the oldest last.

Lastly we played again but we thought about a different strategy, we also had a police in our team. They can tell us where to put the bibs. For the last round we played the second version. My team lost the last round and came last. The last was a little hard because the other team was faster than us.

We won 2 games and lost 1. I enjoyed playing the game because we had to think about where to put the bibs. It was hard thinking of a strategy because none of my group had ideas.
