SLJ – Te Reo Maori Memes

This summer learning jounery task was about making a Te Reo Maori Memes. For this task we had to make a meme in Te Reo Maori. My meme in english is ‘POV: me fake laughing to a non funny joke’. In Maori, the meme is ‘POV: ka kata rūpahu ahau ki te katakata kore’. This task was hard because I didn’t know any Maori, so I used translation.

I enjoyed this task because this task required a english and Maori version.

SLJ Kick Start – Colour Bookmark

This challenge was to make a colourful bookmark. For this task me, Riley, and Densyn, thought about the idea for what to write and chose the summer and winter. The colours were made by Densyn, the drawing was made by me, and Riley made up the idea. This task was fun because we used our creativity and thought about about the idea of summer and winter.

I enjoyed this task beccause we used our creativity on the DLO and made our amazing ideas.

SLJ Kick Start – Summer Jams

For this summer learning jounery activity, we got to make a jam that reminds people of the summer time. For this task we used a website called ‘Groove Pizza‘ This website had a variety of jams like: Groove, Jazz, Rock, Techno, Afro-Latin, and Hip Hop. For my jam I used Jazz and threw a little twist to it. This task was fun because we got to make our own jams and feel the beat to our jam.

This task was a creavite task because we got to enjoy our own beat and listen to other peoples beat to see if there jam was better.

SLJ Comic Strips – Kick Start Activity

This activity was created by Deziah and myself. Our challenge for the summer learning journey was to make comic strips about the beach. This comic strip is all about having a fun time at the beach. This is a fun activty to celebarate with a partner. This activity is also about creativity. This comic is about people having fun at the beach. Playing volley, doing cannon balls, and resting on the beach.

My partner and I enjoyed this task because this was a very intersting comic about the beach. This activty is also hard because it was hard to add different movements for the people.

Market Day

LI: to create a DLO about Market Day

Technology unit were used for posters to make them colourful. The technology unit was for advertising. Some of the class’s had their advertising posters all around the school.

Market poster for each class were bright, colourful, jazzy, flashy, multicolor, and etc.

The design process had many types of designs like: colourful, glittery, and etc.The marketing had people buying things from there stall. The selling process of the each market stall had people advertising their amazing things that each class made.

The product of the market day had many different types of things that people wanted to buy, but my favourite was Room 1’s slime because it was made as perfection. The only thing that was bad about the sells is that, there wasn’t that much slime or playdough. LS2 had harakeke packets and had buy 1 get 1 free.

I enjoyed this activity because it was creative of thinking about having a fun time at Market day.

Celebrating Diwali

LI: To use your smart searching skills to find out what Diwali is and how people celebrate around the world.

Our challenge was to write create a DLO that tells others what Diwali is and how people celebrate around the world. Something I found interesting was the colourful designs/patterns because it stood out to me because the colours were bright and bold.

I found this activity fun because I loved the story behind Diwail and the colourful patterns.

These Shoes has a Story to Tell

LI: To use the 5 senses and personification to help us paint a picture with words. To understand that personification is to give an inanimate object human qualities

Our challenge was to co construct a text using personification and the senses to describe the story behind the shoes in this image. We sat back to back and weren’t able to talk to each other. Half way through Mrs Anderson challenged us to include a rhetorical question and a simile or metaphor. Once we had completed this part of the challenge we joined together with another group to share our writing and make sure what we had written made sense. After that part of the challenge was finished we used the punctuation points game to count up how many points we got. We got 120 points. We marked eachother’s punctuation against the points table. We then had a chance to check our own work against the points table. That was fun because every point our partners missed menat we could take a point off theirs.

I found this activity … because …

Inchcape Rock

LI: To find and summarise the story behind the poem.

No stir in the air, no stir in the sea. The sound of the shock waves flew over Inchcape Rock. Abbot of Aberbrothock that placed the bell of Inchcape Rock. The surge’s of swell the warning bell, the perilous rock blest Abbot Aberbrothock. The sun was shining gay, all things were a joyance day. The inchcape bell was seen to be a dark pixel. Sir Ralph was cheering Spring, his whistle made him sing. Sir Ralph told his men “row me to Inchcape Bell.” Sir Ralph sourced  the sea for many days and plunder’d. They couldn’t see the sky , and the hath died away. The Rover makes his stand for the land is dark. Near the shore they hoped, to hear the Inchcape Bell. No sound heard as the wind blew from every side. The waves were rushing from every side to the boat. The sound was dreadful of the devil ringing his knell.

Our challenge was to unpack the story behind the 17 verses of the poem Inchcape Rock by Robert Southy. The part I found interesting was reading the poem because I loved the rhymes to the poem.

I found this activity interesting because I loved the rhymes in the poem and the 10 word summarys for our summary.

Making Music that Reminds people of Spring

LI: create some music that reminds you of Spring.

This music reminds me of spring by feeling the music because spring sometimes makes people wanting to walk around or dancing. This musics feels like a beat that makes people move around and feeling the beat. I made this song because I want to inspire people move around and to fell the beat. I found this activity fun and creative because I got to make my own beat out of Song Maker.
