Maths – Basic Facts Boxes

I did well on doing my basic facts. For example: 1+1 is a basic fact, 1×1 is a basic fact.

First I ordered my time tables. The time tables were 1 times table all the way to 10 times table.

Next I timed myself. My time was 2 minutes, 29 secounds.

I enjoyed this task because I tried my best on going as fast as I can. I need to imrpove on going faster. I did well on getting the times tables right.

Maths – Length

I learnt what length is.

First I learnt where to measure length. Length is measured by the longest side of the object. Length is measuring things, someone, or objects. For example: length can be measure in MM (millimeters), CM (centimeters), M (meters), and KM (Kilometers).

Next I learnt how to measure objects. For example: a small white board is measure with CM and the length is 29 CM. A chair is measured with CM, the length of a chair is 70.5 CM. I also measured and took images of the objects I measured.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to measure objects. I need to improve on taking the images for the task. I did well on measuring the objects.

Maths – Solvemoji

I learnt my basic facts on a website called solvemoji.

First I practised doing my addition up to 100, subtraction up to 30, and time table up to 10. I did problems like 46+39, 26-13, and 9×9.

Next I chose a level. Then I started to solve the questions. Some answers came in words and other answers came with numbers. For example: 6=g, 1=n, and 9=u. The answer for the word problem will be gun.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new problems. I need to improve on solving the question. I did well on getting the answer right.

Basic Facts Boxes

I completed a Basic Facts Can do in Multiplication in order. I got all the answers correct and my finishing time in 3 minute and 4 seconds. I need to improve on getting it under 3 minutes, I did well on getting all the answers correct.

Maths – Strategy

I learnt strategys like number line, borrwing numbers, rounding and compensation, and place value.

First I learnt number line. Number line is a type of strategy by using the smallest number and trying to make the 1 digit number even. Rounding and compensation is another strategy by rounding the number to the nearest tens.

Next I learnt borrwing numbers. Borrwing numbers is borrwing the number, so it is the nearest ten. Then solve the other number. Place value is a stratgey by adding the ones, then tens.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new strategys. I need to improve on doing the borrwing strategy. I did well on rounding and compensation.

Maths – Split Stategy

I learnt how to slipt 3 digit addition and 2 digit subtraction.

First I learnt how to split 3 digit addition. So if I had a problem. For example: 185 + 500 =? First split the smallest number 185 into, 100, 80, 5. The first problem is 500 + 100 + 80 + 5 =?. If I add up 500 + 100 it was = up to 600. The second line is 600 + 80 + 5 =? If I add up 600 + 40 it will = up to 680. Last problem will be 680 + 5 and that will be 685, so 185 + 500 = 685.

Next I learnt how to split 2 digit subtraction. Spliting subtraction is the same like addition, but it has to take away numbers. For example: 56-35=? First split the smallest number 35 into 30, and 5. The first problem will be 56 – 30 – 5=? If I subtract 30 from 56 it will be 26. The last problem will be 26 – 5 and that will = 21. So the answer is 21.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to split numbers. I need to improve on spliting subtraction. I did well on splitiing addition.

Maths – Statistics

I learnt statistics.

First we wrote all of our charts. Our charts were the bar graph and the tally chart. For example: 20 people can ride a bike in Miss White’s Maths group and 0 people can ride a bike in Miss White’s Maths group.

Next we got more information about what month you were born in. January has 1 person, February has 2 people, March has 1 person, April has 4 people, May has 1 person, June has 2 people, July has 1 person, August has 2 people, September has 0 people, October has 1 person, November has 2 people, and December has 2 people.

I enjoyed this task because it talks about statistics. I need to improve on getting information for statistics. I did well on writing down the information for the statistics.
