HPE – Volleyball

I learnt new volleyball skills, set, dig, and serve.

First I learnt how to set the ball. To set the ball, the ball has to be above you, then bend my arms half way, then push up, and try to hit far. For example: if the ball is above me I have to hit the ball as far as I can.

Next we learnt how to dig the ball. To dig the ball has to be near your arm, the hands have to be connected to form a punch, your legs have to bend down half way, then hit the ball as far as you can. For example: if the ball is to my arms, I have to hit the ball. We played ABC, but it was different.

Lastly we learnt how to serve. To serve the left hand has to hold the ball, the right hand has to form the dig, but use one hand to form a punch, then when I try to hit the ball, my left hand has to drop the ball, while hitting, so it can hit far. We play six vs six.

Inquiry – Similarities and Differences Stories

I learnt the similarities and differences between stories.

First I read a story. I summarised the story about How God Created the Earth and my second story was the Maori Creation. I summarised the story so I can write my differences and my similarities easier.

Next I thought about the differences, then the similarities. The story was about God creating the earth on the first day by sending light because it was too dark. The story about the Maori Creation was that Ranginui and Papatūānuku were tougher, so there wasn’t light. My first difference was that each day God did something to the earth. For example: on the first day, God created earth by sending light to the earth because the earth was filled up with darkness. My first difference for the Maori Creation is that, Tane pushed his parents apart so there can be light. My first similarity was that they were both gods. My second similarity was that both stories are myths about how the earth was created.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt the similarities and differences. I did well on writing the differences. I need to improve on writing the similarities.

Next I talked with my group about if obesity is good or if obesity is bad. For example: obesity is good because it gives energy or obesity is bad because it is unhealthy for us. Our opinion was that it is good because it doesn’t kill us, gives us more energy, and unsaturated fats gives us saturated Vitamin D.

I enjoyed this task because it talks about your opinion. I need to improve on reading the article. I did well on talking with my group and giving my opinion.
