Writing – Writing a Story

I created my own story about McDonalds and Burger King.

First I brainstorm and planned out my story about McDonalds vs Burger King. The front cover and the back cover we had to illustrated.

Next we wrote our story. For example: They agree and go back to Burger King, so they can have a food fight. The Ronald family got hit by a whopper. There were only 5 employees, the owner, and Ronald McDonald, were still in the food fight. All the employees for both teams were out, and there were only the mascots (Ronald and the Burger King mascot), and the owners left. The mascots get out. The both owners saw the same custom, but he was going to KFC, so Burger King and McDonalds quit the food fight, teamed up, and went to KFC, so they could have another food fight.

I enjoyed this task because I made my own story. I need to improve on writing the plan. I did well on writing my brainstorm.

 

Cybersmart – Commenting

I learnt how to comment on people’s blogs.

First I learnt the main things to write on a blog post. For example: if I’m commenting on someone’s blog, I have to greet them, what I enjoyed about their blog post, what I learnt from their blog post, ask a question on their blog, and tell them your feedback for their blog.

Next I wrote my feedback. If they reply. I have to reply back to their comment. For example: I have to greet again, saying thank you for the reply, if you got another question, add the question, and add feedback for their reply.

I enjoyed this task because I enjoyed commenting to other people. I did well on greeting the person. I need to improve on asking better questions, and feedback for their work.

Explanation About Car Design

I learnt how to write an explanation about our car design. 

First I learnt how to label and explain about the car. For example: we wrote an introduction about our car and explained how it can help society. My first bit for my introduction about my car is: this vehicle can go on land, air, water, and rail.

Next I learnt how to explain how it helps society. My first bit about my explanation about my car is: The first transport that helps society is land. The wheels for land helps vehicles go to places like: shops, car brands, and other things. 

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to write the explanation about my car. I need to improve on writing my introduction longer. I did well on writing my explanation.

SSR Selfie

I learnt SSR Selfie.

First I got a book and read for 15 minutes. The book was called bad guys. Bad guys are people that do bad things. For example: bad guys does crimes like robbing the bank and stealing peoples money.

Next I made a recount, and listed 3 new words. For example: if I didn’t know a word from a book, I note them and find the meaning of the word.

I enjoyed this task because I like reading. I need to improve on reading the book. I did well on finding new words.

Basic Facts

I completed a Basic Facts Can do in Multiplication in order. I got all the answers correct and my finishing time in 3 minute and 4 seconds. I need to improve on getting it under 3 minutes, I did well on getting all the answers correct.

 

Reading – Quiz

I learnt the purposes, users, stakeholders, the controversy, and the history of the technology.

First we revised on all of our work over the 3 weeks. We added some history things about the television on our quiz. For example: who invented the first TV with colors? Then we put in people that invented other things and the person who made the first TV with colors.

Next we made a quiz about the television. We are still working on the quiz. The quiz was hard to make because we didn’t plan out who’s doing the things. We forgot to do our final product, our detailed information, information needed, and other things.

I enjoyed this task because I enjoyed making the quiz. I need to improve on adding the links for our quiz. I did well on adding the questions for our quiz.

 

Maths – Temperature

I learnt what temperatures are measured in and what the definition of raise and fall is.

First I learnt the definition of rise and fall. The definition of raise is: telling that the temperature is going to rise up, so that means that the temperature is going to become hotter. The definition of fall is: telling that the temperature is starting to become colder.

Next I learnt how the people measure the weather. They can be measured by air. The hottest country is Mali. The temperature can go up to 83.93F. This is located in West Africa. This is listed in the top 10 most hottest countries. There are many countries that are cold, but the coldest country is Antarctica. On July 21 1983 Antarctica was -89.2 degrees. This made the country the coldest country in the world.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new things about temperature. I need to improve on finding another country that is cold. I did well on finding the hottest country.

HPE – Race

I participated in a race. The fastest time was 21 seconds.

First we ran around, jumped over hurdles, did 5 star jumps, spirited across the cones, and skipped rope to the start of the line. This was a hard task because I didn’t know how to skip rope.

Next we played a game called infinity tag. In infinity tag everyone is the tagger. If they tag each other at the same time, they have to play rock, paper, scissors. If you tag a person, the person has to sit down, but if the person that tagged you gets out, you could stand up and keep on playing.

Lastly, we played Golden child. In Golden Child, there are two teams. They have to run and do an exercise 5 times, then they have to verse the person in rock, paper, scissors, if the person wins they have to run and try to go to the other team to win the game.

I enjoyed participating in the games because I learnt how to play other games. I need to improve on playing golden child because my team lost. I did well on playing infinity tag. 

Cybersmart – How to Write a Blog (Information and Explanation)

After writing this, it will be easier to write a blog post.

Materials:

  • Netbook or paper
  • Pencil or pen (if your writing on paper)

Steps:

(1, 3, 5, and 7 is how to write an information report. 2, 4, 6, and 8 is how to write an explanation.)

  1. (for an information report), find a topic that has lots of information about it.
  2. (for explanation), find a topic that is a technology. For example: an engine.
  3. (for information report), write a mini sentence about the topic, then write another sentence about the order of the information. For example: trees grow on land. The parts of the tree are the roots, fruit, and the leaves.
  4. (for explanation), then write an intro from the topic. For example: engines have this part called convert chemical.
  5. (for information report), write then information about the topic in order. For example: the roots of the trees help the trees grow.
  6. (for explanation), then explain the parts of the object or explain how the thing works.
  7. (for information), then write a mini sentence about the topic.
  8. (for explanation), then write a mini summary about how the thing works or what the parts are for the topic.

(There are 4 parts for an information report and 4 parts for the explanation.)
