Inquiry – New Design Car

I learnt how to design a car.

First I made a brainstorm about cons of the cars and how I would fix it. For example: a electirc train has a thing called nitrogen trifluoride. Nitrogen trifluoride is a type of exploding chemical. This can kill people if they smell the chemical.

Next we made a list of pros and cons for our task. I used the cons to improve on my car.

Next we made a car. My car was designed with little wheels that are used for rail, normal wheels for land, and wings for air. This can take me places, but not under water. For example: if a train is on the rails and I am on the rails. I could try and out run the train.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to make a car. I need to improve on making the sea part for my car. I did well on making the design.

Cybersmart – Comment Threading

I learnt how to comment on people’s blogs.

First I learnt the main things to write on a blog post. For example: if I’m commenting on someone’s blog, I have to greet them, what I enjoyed about their blog post, what I learnt from their blog post, ask a question on their blog, and tell them your feedback for their blog.

Next I wrote my feedback. If they reply. I have to reply back to their comment. For example: I have to greet again, saying thank you for the reply, if you got another question, add the question, and add feedback for their reply.

I enjoyed this task because I enjoyed commenting to other people. I did well on greeting the person. I need to improve on asking better questions, and feedback for their work.

Writing – Narrative Planner

Narrative structure is TOPES. Title, Orientation, problem, events, and solution.

Title is the storys title. For example: Goldilocks. Orientation is explaining the first part of the story. For example: Goldilocks goes around the woods and finds a house. Problem is revealing the cause for the main character or what they are doing. For example: The house was owned by 3 bears, but goldilocks didn’t know and entered the house. 

Events is the main or the biggest part of the story. For example: Goldilocks eats 1 porridge, it was too small, and too cold. Then she eats a medium porridge, it was too hot, and the porridge wasn’t big enough. Last, Goldilocks ate another porridge and it was just right. Solution is the end of the story. For example: She runs all the way back home.

Topes can be only used in Narrative writing.

 

PB4L – Being Inclusive To Other People

I learnt about being inclusive to people and the benefits on how to be inclusive.

First I revised on how I was inclusive to a person and what I said to the person so they can be included. For example: I saw a kid by himself and said “hey, what’s your name? Want to play with us?”

Next I learnt about the benefits of being inclusive to others. A benefit of being inclusive is, making sure they are welcomed to a group or welcome to the school. Making sure their welcome might be like: “hey are you new to the school? What’s your name?”

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to be inclusive to other people and helping them if they are lonely. I need to improve on writing more benefits about being inclusive. I did well on making sure a new person to our school felt like they were welcome to our school.

Writing – Commanding Conversation

I learnt how to write conversation.

First I found a photo. The photo looked like 2 girls, but 1 is not talking to the other.

Next I thought about what to write. This was hard because I didn’t know what to write for my conversation.

Lastly I wrote my conversation about 2 womans. This was fun to write.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to write a conversation. I need to improve on my conversation. I did well on finding a photo.

Reading – SSR Selfie

I learnt SSR Selfie.

First I got a book and read for 15 minutes. The book was called bad guys. Bad guys are people that do bad things. For example: bad guys does crimes like robbing the bank and stealing peoples money.

Next I made a recount, and listed 3 new words. For example: if I didn’t know a word from a book, I note them and find the meaning of the word.

I enjoyed this task because I like reading. I need to improve on reading the book. I did well on finding new words.

Reading – Podcast

I learnt how to write a script for our podcast. Our podcast is about bad or good things about televisions. The main topic for our podcast is the bad things (nitrogen trifluoride) about televisions.

First I research the bad things about televisions. A main thing that is bad for televisions is nitrogen trifluoride. Nitrogen trifluoride is a man-made gas that uses atoms. Atoms are the smallest part of the chemical. For example: the main bit for nitrogen trifluoride is that it helps the technology to use the electronic.

Next we learnt that nitrogen trifluoride is a gas that can harm the person. For example: if the gas (nitrogen trifluoride) is inhaled. The chemicals of the gas could kill, cause headaches, double vision, sleeplessness, and other bad things that can harm the person.

Lastly we made a podcast about the good things about nitrogen trifluoride and the bad things about nitrogen trifluoride. For example: we wrote notes about the good things and bad things. Then said the good and bad things about nitrogen trifluoride.

I enjoyed making a podcast because I learnt lots of things about televisions, like: nitrogen trifluoride being used in the 2000s, but sometimes in the 2020s. My group needs to improve on talking louder. I did well on saying my sentence for our podcast.

Maths – Measuring Time

I learnt how to measure time. I also learnt the two times.

First I learnt two different times. Digital time and analog time. These two times are different because digital time is on a type of technology like: netbooks, phones, and other technology. Analog time can be used as a real clock. 

Next I put a random time to measure. For example: if digital time was 7:40, then the analog time would be 20 minutes to 7 hours. I learnt the hands of the clock. For example: the long hand is the minute hand. The short hand is the hour hand.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt two different types of time. I need to improve on finding out the hour hand. I did well on guessing the minute hand.

Basic Facts

I completed a Basic Facts Can do in Multiplication in order. I got all the answers correct and my finishing time in 3 minute and 4 seconds. I need to improve on getting it under 3 minutes, I did well on getting all the answers correct.
